FAQ’s

Can I rent a boat without a captain?

No, sorry – we do not rent our boats without one of our captains.

What is required to rent a boat with a captain?

Must be 21+ an older and have a valid major credit card.  You will be required to present the credit card and a valid ID prior to boarding.

Where is the departure location?

We have several departures locations – Miami Beach, Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale Beach.

What can I bring to the boat?

You can bring food and beverages. We will provide a cooler with ice. Sorry, no additional coolers are allowed.

Can I bring food & drinks aboard?

Yes, we will have a cooler with ice aboard so you can store your drinks and snacks.

Where does the boat take me?

Your captain can offer you many suggestions. Our clients typically like going to the famous Miami Sandbars, Elliott key, Monument Island, Florida Cape Light House in the Key Biscayne Park, Miami Biscayne Bay, Bayside, John U Lloyd Park, Downtown Fort Lauderdale and several restaurants along the intercoastal.

Do you provide life jackets?

Yes, we do.  All passengers must be able to wear a life vest,  therefore no children under the age of 2 are permitted.

What is the charge for fuel?

No fuel charges. All our prices include captain and fuel.

Tax:  7% Florida tax will be added

Gratuity: 15% captain gratuity is NOT included

How much does a Captain charge?

A captain is included in the price. The captain gratuity of 15% is NOT included.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Reservations:

To secure your reservation, you must submit payment first.  You have two payment options: credit card or cash.   Credit card payments should be made via our website fastboatrentals.com. Cash payments will be paid to the captain prior to boarding the day of your reservation.  In order to secure your cash payment the day of, a $100 USD credit deposit will be required. To do so, we will email you a credit card authorization form for you to complete.  Cash payers must complete and submit the credit card authorization form immediately in order to secure their reservation.   Reservations are not guaranteed unless payment has been submitted.

Confirmation Emails: 

You will receive a confirmation email from info@fastboatrentals.com with all of the details for your boating adventure within 24-48 hours after securing your reservation.   If you do not receive a confirmation email after 48 hours, please contact us.

Weather:

Weather cancellations are made solely at the discretion of Fast Boat Rentals and are only made on the day of the rental.  Should the captain feel that weather will not permit for the scheduled time of your charter, the captain will notify the client 1 hour prior to departure and a full refund will be issued.  Please note that “a chance of showers tomorrow” does not qualify for next day cancellation. If you are already out on the boat, we are not responsible for weather changes. If you are already out on the boat for one hour or less and weather conditions do not permit continued stay, we will reschedule your boat rental. If weather conditions become unsafe such as moderate rain lasting more than 45 minutes, lightning or high winds, we will return to the marina immediately.  In the case that weather conditions become unsafe, a credit for the remaining balance not used will be issued to the renter to be used on another date. 

Cancellations:

Cancellations must be done 48 hours prior to your reservation date to get a full refund. Cancellations done after 48 hours of your reservation date will be charged $200 USD cancellation fee.

Mechanical Issues: 

Mechanical issues are beyond our control.  If we are unable to provide the renter with a boat of the type booked or a boat of similar capacity and standard, or another alternative acceptable to the renter, the company will issue the client a full refund, in which case the renter will have no further claim against the company.

Damages:

Passengers are fully responsible for any damages that occur on the boat during their time of use on it.   Should damages occur, the credit card on file will be charged for the damages. Each boat is inspected prior to departure from the docks and upon return, if any damages have occurred the renter will incur charges for the repairs.

Rules of Conduct:

Violation of the rules and regulations will lead to discretionary sanctions. 

  • Our captain reserves the right to return to the marina if passengers conduct themselves inappropriately.  No verbal or physical abuse will be tolerated.  No exceptions.
  • Smoking is NOT permitted on the boats.
  • Passengers who bring and/or consume alcoholic beverages must be 21+ years old with a valid ID.
  • Illegal drugs are NOT permitted on our boat(s).  If illegal drugs or paraphernalia is found or used while on our boat(s), immediate action will be taken and law enforcement will be notified.
  • Minors and non-swimmers must wear a life vest.

Boat Passenger Waiver:

Boat passenger waiver for each passenger is necessary before launch.
